WICED® Wi-Fi™ 101 - Chapter 1: Ecosystem Overview
Welcome to Chapter 1, here you’ll learn the basics of our WICED IDE from our IoT expert – that’s why we’re calling this series WICED Wi-Fi 101. This is an awesome course to get started with Cypress game-changing IoT technology. Whether you’re a seasoned vet or engineering student, we welcome you to put your problem-solving skills to the test and get started today.
In the second video of this series, you’ll need to download WICED studio – our Eclipse-based IDE for developing Wi-Fi and Bluetooth applications. Alan Hawse, our IoT expert, will take you through the fundamentals of the WICED Studio software and introduce you to the world of solving design problems with Cypress solutions.
In the final part of this chapter, Alan Hawse walks you through creating and running two simple applications in WICED® studio – they're called snips. You’ll need two things to be successful in this lesson. The first is knowledge of the development kit the snip will run on, and the second is a make target.
The Cypress CYW943907AEVAL1F Evaluation kit enables you to evaluate and develop Wi-Fi applications using the dual band CYW43907 with onboard 320-MHz ARM Cortex-R4 MCU.
The PSoC AFE Shield is an Arduino Uno R3 compatible companion board that can be used to add analog capability and sensors as well as a user interface to an Arduino Uno R3 compatible baseboard (not included with this kit).
