Welcome to Cypress’ take on the Internet of Things (IoT). In this video, we’re introducing you to the world of IoT via Cypress Academy. Our IoT expert, Alan Hawse, will break down WICED® Wi-Fi® in this 101-introduction course.

In the second video of this series, you’ll need to download WICED studio – our Eclipse-based IDE for developing Wi-Fi and Bluetooth applications. Alan Hawse, our IoT expert, will take you through the fundamentals of the WICED Studio software and introduce you to the world of solving design problems with Cypress solutions.

In the final part of this chapter, Alan Hawse walks you through creating and running two simple applications in WICED® studio – they're called snips. You’ll need two things to be successful in this lesson. The first is knowledge of the development kit the snip will run on, and the second is a make target.

The PSoC AFE Shield is an Arduino Uno R3 compatible companion board that can be used to add analog capability and sensors as well as a user interface to an Arduino Uno R3 compatible baseboard (not included with this kit).
