Using Amazon FreeRTOS with the Cypress CYW43907 and CYW54907 | Cypress Semiconductor
Using Amazon FreeRTOS with the Cypress CYW43907 and CYW54907
This series of videos will introduce you to the Cypress CYW43907 and CYW54907 single-chip Wi-Fi devices, the WICED Studio development environment, and Amazon FreeRTOS. You will learn how to create a fully functional IoT application that connects to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud to publish and subscribe to MQTT messages.
In this lesson, you will learn about two of Cypress' single-chip Wi-Fi devices – the CYW43907 and CYW54907 – and the development kits you can use to create your own IoT device.
In this lesson, you'll hear about some of the many ways that Amazon Web Services and Amazon FreeRTOS can help simplify your IoT projects.
In this lesson, you will find a description of the WICED WiFi 101 Video Tutorial Series, a very detailed video course that covers the CYW43907, WICED Studio IDE, Wi-Fi, and AWS. The series of videos described are based on a full 2-day intensive workshop that covers low level details of the chips (e.g. using the peripherals), the IDE (e.g. creating projects, programming kits, using libraries), Wi-Fi (e.g. connecting to access points, sending data via sockets, handling security), and AWS (e.g. using the MQTT library, using JSON parsers).
In this lesson, you will learn how to create and build your first application using Amazon FreeRTOS and how to program it to a Cypress development kit. The "hello world" application connects to the Amazon Web Services Cloud, opens an MQTT connection, sends (publishes) messages, and receives (subscribes to) responses.
In this lesson, you will get a deep dive into the firmware to understand the architecture of the application so that you can begin to design your own unique IoT product. You will also learn how to use the integrated debugger.
Lesson 6: A Real-World Amazon Web Services Application (Coming Soon)
In this lesson, you will hear about Alan Hawse's pet IoT project – a water level sensing system for the Elkhorn Creek that runs through his back yard. Alan will walk you through how he measures the water depth, sends it to the AWS Cloud, and automates the process of posting the data on a web server so that he can monitor the water level from anywhere in the world.
The Cypress CYW943907AEVAL1F Evaluation kit enables you to evaluate and develop single-chip Wi-Fi applications using CYW43907 devices.
