TraveoTM II for automotive body electronics applications offers cutting-edge performance, safety, and security features.

The Traveo II family is designed for cars of the future. With processing power and network connectivity built into a single Arm® Cortex®- M4F and dual Cortex®- M7F, this family of microcontrollers has enhanced performance from 400 DMIPS in Traveo, to 1500 DMIPS in Traveo II.

This family also provides the scalability across memory size and pin count. The IP compatibility enables customers to design and develop their system with a single-platform MCU solution.

Traveo II devices have advanced security features with the introduction of HSM (Hardware security module), dedicated Cortex®-M0+ for secure processing, and embedded flash in dual bank mode for FOTA requirements.

Traveo II features six power modes that enable ECUs to minimize overall power consumption.

Our MCUs come with optimized software platform that is available for Cypress AUTOSAR MCAL (Microcontroller Abstraction Layer), self-test libraries, Flash EEPROM emulation, as well as security low level drivers, combined with third-party firmware.

Performance

Cypress’ Traveo II family is connected-car ready with the high-performance CPU powered by Arm® Cortex®-M4F and M7F operating up to 350 MHz.  Traveo II provides great connectivity capabilities like CAN FD, CXPI, Ethernet and FlexRay for faster communication and increased data-bandwidth. With the High-speed SPI (Single, Dual, Quad, or Octal) or HyperBus interface for external memory interface, Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) interface supporting embedded MultiMediaCard (eMMC), SecureDigital (SD), or SDIO (Secure Digital Input Output), as well as Inter-IC Sound (I2S) Interfaces for connecting digital audio devices in the high-end series (CYT4BF series), Traveo II works very well for a wide variety of applications such as body control modules, HVAC, gateway, and infotainment. There are two options for the temperature range: S-Grade for 105℃ and E-Grade for 125℃.

Safety and Security

Today’s automobiles integrate multiple ECUs that are connected through various networks. Traveo II offers cutting-edge security features to secure data. Thanks to the embedded eSHE (Enhanced Secure Hardware Extension), HSM (Hardware Security Module) and hardware-accelerated cryptography engine, Traveo II enables secure communication and update firmware over the air with embedded flash in dual bank mode. One Time Programmable Fuses (OTP) is embedded into the devices that helps manage device lifecycle for additional security. Secure boot is provided from ROM with root-of-trust and authentication/integrity check of the flash image. The memory and peripheral protection are supported by Memory Protection Unit (MPU), Shared Memory Protection Unit (SMPU), and Peripheral Protection Unit (PPU). JTAG security also supported for secure debugging.

The Traveo II family also has state-of-the-art safety features, including ECC for memories, power supply voltage and clock monitors, watchdogs, and self-test libraries. Read more about our functional safety capabilities at: http://www.cypress.com/functional-safety

Power Modes

Traveo II family supports six power modes. Active, Sleep, Low-Power Active, Low-Power Sleep, DeepSleep, and Hibernate (typ. 5 uA). These microcontrollers also supports cyclic wake-up from DeepSleep to optimize power consumption.

AUTOSAR MCAL EMBEDDED PLATFORM

Traveo II supports all relevant versions of AUTOSAR MCAL, including optional microcontroller modules such as CorTst1, FlsTst2, RamTst3, FEE4 and Security LLD5
