4-PLL High Performance Clock Generator
Cypress’s CY274X is a 4-PLL High-Performance Clock Generator.
In the recent times consumer devices have become feature-rich and connected. Sharing high-resolution media content requires faster data transfer standards. Consumer devices must support multiple data standards, each with specific timing requirements. What this essentially means is – consumer devices require highly integrated and flexible timing solutions. And this is precisely why we have designed the CY274X High Performance Clock Generator.
Best-In-Class
The 4-PLL (Phase Locked Loop) High Performance Clock Generator can generate up to 12 outputs, where eight outputs can be configured as differential or single-ended, and the remaining four are dedicated single-ended outputs. With support for frequencies up to 700 MHz and RMS Phase jitter of less than 0.7ps, CY274X can support reference clocks for PCIe1.0/2.0/3.0, SATA1.0/2.0/3.0, 10GbE and USB 1.0/2.0/3.0 peripherals.
Additional Benefits
The High Performance Clock Generator offers Frequency Select feature, glitch-free frequency switching, and can also be configured as zero or non-zero delay buffer. It provides VCXO functionality and a cascading PLL option to generate critical frequencies with a fixed reference. It reduces EMI (Electro-Magnetic Interference) using Spread Spectrum Modulation, and has an RTC (Real Time Clock) to offer. The High Performance Clock Generator also has an AEC-Q100 qualified automotive variant.

- The device offers 12 outputs:
- Eight configurable as differential or single-ended
- Four single-ended
- Fractional N PLL with fully integrated VCO
- Supports popular output formats: LVPECL, LVDS, HCSL, CML, and LVCMOS
- Operates on 3.3V, 2.5V and 1.8V supply
- RMS Phase Jitter 0.7ps (12kHz to 20MHz frequency offsets)
- Reference clock support for PCIe1.0/2.0/3.0, SATA1.0/2.0/3.0, 10GbE and USB 1.0/2.0/3.0 peripherals
- Spread-spectrum capability (Logic SS and Lexmark profile 0.1% to 5% in 0.1% steps, down or center spread)
- VCXO functionality provided. The output frequency can vary up to +/-120 ppm
- Better frequency stability over temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C
