SAN JOSE, Calif., February 25, 2004 - Cypress Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE: CY) today announced that its Ayama(TM) 10000 network search engine (NSE) has been named one of the Hot 100 Products of 2003 by EDN, a leading electronics publication.

The annual product of the year awards, selected by EDN's staff of technical editors, are chosen from thousands of products announced each year. The Ayama 10000 NSE, as well as the CY8C27x family of Programmable System-on-chip(TM) (PSoC(TM)), from Cypress subsidiary Cypress MicroSystems Inc., were two of the elite products that made EDN readers "sit up and take notice."

"Earning this award for innovation from the editors of EDN magazine further validates what customers are saying about the Ayama 10000 NSE," said Vivek Pendharkar, Managing Director of the Network Search Engine Business Unit.  "The Ayama 10000 NSE's industry-leading search performance, coupled with the extensive design support, is changing the way system designers are thinking about their search subsystem. As a result, the overall adoption rate of hardware-based NSEs continues to increase. "

Designed to work with both ASICs and FPGAs, the Ayama 10000 NSE family enables networking vendors to quickly deploy equipment that supports complex packet search capabilities at wire-speeds of 10 Gbps and beyond. The Ayama 10000 NSE family of network search engines (NSEs) is optimized for multi-protocol packet classification and forwarding at 266 million searches per second (MSPS), effectively doubling the search performance of existing NSE solutions.
