Cypress Supports Marvell PXA3xx Application Processor Family With MoBL-USB™ TX2 High-Speed Transceiver

Cypress's MoBL® (More Battery Life™) ADM Dual-Port Interconnects Also Support New High-Performance Marvell Handset Platform

SAN JOSE, Calif., November 29, 2006 - Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE: CY), the market leader in USB, today announced that its MoBL-USB™ TX2 high-speed USB 2.0 transceiver supports the Marvell PXA3xx application processor platform from Marvell Technology Group, Ltd., (NASDAQ: MRVL). The device, which is in full production, is optimized for the PXA3xx family, providing high-speed USB connectivity for mobile handsets, PDAs and portable music players. The device is compliant with the UTMI standard, and has been tested in collaboration with the PXA3xx platform.

Cypress also supports the Marvell PXA3xx platform with the MoBL® (More Battery Life™) Dual Ports with Address/Data Multiplexed (ADM) interface. As bandwidth-hungry multimedia functions increase smartphone processing requirements, processors are adding the pin-saving ADM interface to allocate sufficient dedicated I/Os for these functions. Cypress's MoBL ADM Dual Ports enable a direct interconnect between the Marvell PXA3xx applications processor and the system baseband in 3G and 3.5G dual-processor smartphones. This minimizes system costs, reduces board space and provides a faster and simpler design cycle for next-generation multimedia handsets.
