Stylish and Practical User Interface Adds to Appeal of Hot New Graphical Input Tablet

SAN JOSE, Calif., April 7, 2009 – Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE: CY) today announced that its PSoC® CapSense™ touch sensing solution drives the control panel of the Wacom Bamboo™ tablet, the exciting new graphical input device. A single CapSense device drives the touch ring control.

The highly rated Bamboo tablet allows users to input handwritten text, drawings and notes into digital documents. It supports widescreen displays and has a textured work surface for a natural pen-on-paper feel. The four Express Keys offer quick access to user-defined shortcuts, and the finger-sensitive touch ring delivers easy scrolling and zooming.

Cypress is the worldwide leader in capacitive touch-sensing with the industry's broadest portfolio. Its PSoC-based CapSense™ devices have implemented over 2.5 billion buttons, sliders and other touch sensing interfaces in systems worldwide. The CapSense portfolio offers unmatched flexibility and integration, addressing a broad range of designs from complex, feature-rich applications to simple button replacement. About CapSense
Cypress's CapSense Touch-Sensing solution has replaced 2.5 billion mechanical buttons in mobile handsets, laptops, consumer electronics, white goods, automotive applications, and virtually any system that has a mechanical button or switch, making Cypress the industry touch-sensing leader. The CapSense portfolio, the industry's broadest and most integrated, enhances industrial design and reliability with the most noise-immune and water tolerant capacitive touch-sensing interfaces, including proximity sensing where direct touch is not required. CapSense proximity sensing, with its industry leading detection range up to 25 cm, provides power savings by activating an interface only when needed while further enhancing industrial designs by only exposing interfaces when necessary. Based on the PSoC programmable system-on-chip architecture and the PSoC Designer™ Embedded-System Design Tool, users complete CapSense designs quickly and easily using pre-configured and verified "user modules" and real-time sensor tuning and monitoring.
