Cypress Introduces New Document Management Tool for Streamlined Navigation

Last Updated: July 30, 2014

Cypress Document Manager (CDM) Allows Users to Navigate,
View and Efficiently Manage the Wealth of Cypress Documentation

SAN JOSE, Calif., July 30, 2014 – Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NASDAQ: CY) today introduced a document management tool that helps users quickly search its portfolio of rich online technical content. The new Cypress Document Manager (CDM) allows users to navigate more than 60,000 Cypress documents using keyword searches combined with document filters for product, application, document type and language. CDM makes it simple and efficient for users to make sure they have the most up to date files as new document revisions are published to the Cypress website.

“Cypress is committed to providing high-quality documentation, and we developed Cypress Document Manager specifically to make these resources more accessible. CDM helps engineers quickly find the application note or package drawing they need, right when they need it,” said Alan Hawse, Executive Vice President of Software. “As part of the CDM project, we’ve now begun classifying our training and application notes by expertise level. This has been a common customer request from users looking to find beginner materials, and it is now available in just a couple of clicks within the tool.”

CDM manages documentation for all Cypress products; documentation for PSoC programmable systems-on-chip, touch-sensing solutions, memories and USB controllers can all be found, viewed and managed within a single tool. CDM can open documents located on the Web or downloaded to a user’s desktop. Users can preview documents before downloading, and then, with a single click, download the document to their PC. CDM also simplifies keeping local documents up-to-date with a single-click navigation that allows users to check all local documents for newer revisions available on the Cypress website.

CDM provides intuitive document navigation and filtering. With the ability to filter all Cypress documentation by product, application, document type, language and expertise level, users can quickly find the collateral required for their project. Keywords can be added in conjunction with filters to further specify a precise set of needed documents. The resulting list of documents is easy to browse through, as they can be sorted by title, language, relevance, file type and version.
