Cypress Announces Windows(R) CE Driver for USB Embedded Host Controllers
Driver for EZ-OTG(TM) and EZ-Host(TM) Controllers Delivers USB Host Capabilities To Windows CE-Enabled Devices
SAN JOSE, Calif., March 24, 2004 - Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE: CY), the market share leader in USB, today announced a Windows(R) CE driver for its EZ-Host(TM) and EZ OTG(TM) embedded host controllers. The driver supports Windows CE.NET v4.2 and Windows Mobile 2003 operating systems and works with the existing USB stack and class drivers provided in Windows CE to instantly enable USB Host and OTG-based products that communicate with millions of existing USB peripherals.

The host port interface of Cypress's EZ-OTG and EZ-Host controllers is used for 16-bit high-performance data transfer. The driver supports various serial interface engine and port combinations of the chips, enabling a broad range of host, peripheral and OTG devices. Featuring 16-Bit RISC controllers, large memory and low power, Cypress's EZ-Host and EZ-OTG embedded controllers operate as either hosts or peripherals, depending on the application." EZ-Host (CY7C67300) is a multi-port controller featuring two individually configurable two-port serial interface engines (SIEs) and a configurable I/O block that can connect to numerous standard interfaces. The product is targeted at wired devices, ranging from DVD players, set-top boxes, Internet appliances and print servers. EZ-OTG (CY7C67200), based on the USB On-The-Go (OTG) protocol, enables direct connectivity between portable devices, such as cell phones, PDAs, video and still cameras, MP3 players and mass storage peripherals.
