Cytech Will Distribute Complete Line of Cypress Programmable and Proprietary Solutions in ASEAN Countries and India

SAN JOSE, Calif., September 22, 2009 – Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE: CY) today announced that Cytech Global Pte Ltd will distribute Cypress’s complete line of proprietary and programmable solutions in the ASEAN countries and India. Cytech’s parent company, Macnica, Inc., has a long and successful partnership with Cypress in Japan, and more recently Macnica HK (a subsidiary of Macnica, Inc.) has been distributing Cypress products in China. The agreement is effective immediately.

Cytech’s demand creation engine consists of more than 200 employees across 16 offices in the Asia Pacific region. Cytech’s sales force is highly technical and able to assist customers throughout the entire design cycle. In addition, the company is well-versed in selling programmable and proprietary solutions, providing excellent synergy with Cypress’s offerings.

“We welcome Cytech to the Cypress sales team,” said Geoff Charubin, vice president of Worldwide Distribution for Cypress. “Cytech offers a powerful demand creation engine in the ASEAN countries and India that fits perfectly with our target customers and product offerings. We look forward to strong sales of PSoC and other Cypress solutions from Cytech and the entire family of Macnica companies across Asia, Japan and India.”

“We are excited to begin working with customers throughout the ASEAN countries and India to implement PSoC and other Cypress solutions,” said Johnny Chan, Chairman of Cytech. “The PSoC solution is changing the embedded design landscape, and our talented sales team is well positioned to help engineers implement new designs immediately.”

Cypress’s PSoC® programmable system-on-chip is the flagship of the company’s programmable and proprietary solutions. PSoC devices employ a highly configurable system-on-chip architecture for embedded control design, offering a flash-based equivalent of a field-programmable ASIC without lead-time penalties. PSoC devices integrate configurable analog and digital circuits, controlled by an on-chip microcontroller, providing both enhanced design revision capability and component count savings. In addition to the PSoC families, Cypress offers a wide range of programmable USB controllers, programmable clocks, LED and power management controllers, and high-performance memories.
