Features and Overview
- Hardware implementation of IrDA receiver
- Data format compliant with IrDA data format
- Data bit rate selectable to a maximum receive rate of 115.2 kbps
- Data framing consists of start and stop bits
- Optional interrupt on receive register full
- Overrun and framing error detection
The IrDARX User Module is an 8-bit serial half-duplex receiver that supports the IrDA data format using an infrared data link. The data format includes a start bit, eight data bits, and a stop bit with no parity. Flexible clocking and interrupts, on data availability, are supported. Application Programming Interface (API) firmware routines are provided to initialize, configure, and operate the Interface. A complete implementation of the IrDA protocol stack is not included. The maximum supported data rate is 115.2 kbpsidar. Additional information regarding IrDA is available at http://www.irda.org.
