Problem Solving to be Proud of – Cypress’ Global Impact

2019. To some degree, I feel like the year in and of itself is a statement.
In the last three years, Cypress has transformed into an organization that is respected by our customers, valued by our shareholders and feared by our competitors 😊. We have consistently met or exceeded goals that were meant to challenge each and every member of our Cypress community. Collectively, we banded together to continuously reach further and further out of our comfort zone. We embraced a culture of tackling the problems plaguing our customers instead of shying away from them. We focused on working cross functionally to create a Cypress community built on capitalizing on our strengths.
While the overall success of our company strengthens our resolve to expand our positive impact on our customers through each exemplary experience, there is one additional focus area for our company that is profoundly rewarding and makes me proud to be a member of this organization - global philanthropy and outreach.
In 2019, hundreds of Cypress employees donated their time, services and other resources to improve the world around them. The incredible support our sites provided to the larger global community is evidence of the tenacity ingrained in our culture. It was our extraordinary people that drove Cypress to begin the outreach program several years ago with their refusal to ignore the problems affecting their communities. Since then, numerous sites have developed traditions of giving that have endured through the ups and downs of business and life in general.
These traditions have since matured into working relationships with valued nonprofit organizations and community partners. Year after year, Cypress sites around the world organize donation events, coordinate fundraisers, give their time and so much more. That's why, while reflecting on the past year, the challenges it presented and the inspiring resilience our teams displayed, I wanted to recognize some of the impact that Cypress' philanthropic outreach has had in 2019.

In the U.S., Cypress San Jose continued its annual participation in a seasonal fundraising tradition benefitting Second Harvest Food Bank of Silicon Valley. Our employees, including the executive staff, contributed and donated enough money to cover over 1 million meals before the holidays. "Cypress Semiconductor and its employees have been amazing supporters of our work at Second Harvest, whether they are participating in the 48-Hour Virtual Race to End Hunger or volunteering in our warehouse," shared Leslie Bacho, CEO of Second Harvest of Silicon Valley. "We are truly grateful for the 30 years of partnership!"
Our Colorado Springs employees collected food and new backpacks for less fortunate children, and our Austin site held yet another successful toy and food drive with Foundation Communities, their nonprofit partners for roughly a decade.

Ukraine employees banded together to make the 2019 holiday season memorable for some of the most vulnerable members of their community by partnering with a local nonprofit to purchase gifts for less fortunate children on Saint Nicholas Day. They didn't stop there though - employees also collected donations for Dzherelo Children's Rehabilitation Center benefitting children with disabilities.

To ensure their neighbors would not go hungry, employees in Israel sorted and packaged produce for Leket National Food Bank. Our team in India donated classroom furniture for sixth and seventh grade students, two ambulances for use in rural areas, 500 gas stoves for flood victims and built a dedicated home dialysis program for children.

The dedication to helping others that I have witnessed across the globe is astounding and truly powerful. I'm honored to be part of a company that is immensely impactful not only in the industry, but also far beyond it. 2019 was a year that we came together to lift one another up and elevate communities world-wide. We are certainly not yet done with our giving, but I want to thank our Cypress community for ensuring we could all look back on the past year with a sense of accomplishment and pride.
