Develop with the world’s highest performance and reliability nonvolatile RAMs

CY14NVSRAMKIT-001 is an easy-to-use and inexpensive nonvolatile SRAM (nvSRAM) development kit for Cypress’s high-performance and high-reliability parallel nvSRAM devices. The nvSRAM is a 16-Mbit high performance SRAM that is backed by Cypress’s Silicon-Oxide-Nitride-Oxide-Silicon (SONOS) nonvolatile technology making it the ideal replacement for battery-backed SRAM (BBSRAM), MRAM, and other in high-performance applications. The development kit supports the following key features:

  • CY14NVSRAMKIT-001 DVK board header compatible with Cypress’s SK-FM4-U120-9B560 FM4 MCU board
  • Software project is built with Cypress’s FM4 Peripheral Driver Library (PDL 2.0)
  • Windows based Graphical User Interface (GUI) software

The CY14NVSRAMKIT-001 kit has been designed to operate with the following FM4 MCU kit:

The CY14NVSRAMKIT-001 kit collateral supports the following example firmware for the   SK-FM4-U120-9B560 FM4 MCU Kit:

  • nvSRAM access APIs (CY14B116.h, CY14B116.c)

The example project uses the External Bus Interface (EBI) to access the nvSRAM device. This demonstrates
how the 16-Mbit nvSRAM can be used as nonvolatile RAM. The nvSRAM also includes a Real Time Clock
(RTC) features which can be evaluated on the CY14NVSRAMKIT-001 kit using the GUI provided.

The example project is developed for the SK-FM4-U120-9B560 FM4 MCU kit using the IAR Embedded Workbench. The example project is easily portable to any C based MCU platform which only needs to
change its hardware I/O interface.
