Seminar Objectives:

After giving an introduction into the FM Family of MCUs with focus on peripherals for motor control, this seminar provides an overview of different motor types used in typical applications, as well as how they are usually controlled in microcontroller-based systems. From a simple brushed DC motor up to a field-orientated (vector controlled) PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor), the seminar explains the background of the control methods on a practical level.

In the afternoon hands-on session the participants are guided through a practical step-by step training of how to set up different embedded motor control peripherals based on the FM3 Family MCU MB9BF516N. Finally, a PMSM Field-Orientated Control example implementation is analysed and practically tested.
