PSoC Is Everywhere
The PSoC® CapSense™ solution for capacitive sensing is employed in the revolutionary new heated hockey blades made by Therma Blade, Inc. Therma Blades are technologically advanced skate blades that use electronics to heat the blade, thereby reducing friction between the blade and ice surface, creating a smoother feel, and overall improved skating performance.
The PSoC device solution allows the heat to be turned on and off without mechanical buttons that can be broken or pressed accidentally, an important feature considering the very physical nature of hockey. For more information on the technology and performance advantages, visit www.Thermablade.com.

Cypress has opened an online technical library featuring articles written by Cypress engineers on a wide variety of analog, digital and mixed-signal design challenges and trends. Cypress authors hundreds of articles each year for leading technical publications and websites around the world. The goal of the new electronic library, located at www.cypress.com/go/library, is to make this content easily accessible, readily searchable and widely available.
Library articles include links to additional information on Cypress products and applications, and the articles are searchable by key words and language, as well as by product and application. Readers can post articles in the library to popular community bookmarking websites - such as Digg.com and Newsvine.com - and to RSS readers to recommend the content to other designers. Users can also subscribe to receive updates when new articles are posted. Visit the library today.

New Webinars Demonstrates On-Time Embedded Development with the PSoC® FirstTouch™ Embedded Starter Kit
Cypress will present live seminars in both English and Chinese to introduce the Cypress PSoC® FirstTouch™ Embedded Design Starter Kit. The English version will be presented on Wednesday, November 7 at 9:00 a.m. Pacific time. The Chinese version will be presented on Friday, November 2 at 10:00 a.m. Beijing time. The free seminar will show attendees how to get started quickly with the new FirstTouch™ Kit. You'll see a single PSoC mixed-signal array performing several embedded designs-CapSense™ touch sensing, temperature sensing, light sensing, and CapSense proximity sensing. And you’ll learn how, with Cypress's PSoC Express™ visual embedded system design tool, you can modify these designs as you wish or create your own applications in minutes.
Register for the English seminar.

Test Your Rock, Paper, Scissors Expertise Against PSoC Express – Win Prizes
As we all know, the "Rock, Paper Scissors" (RPS) game is the ultimate tie breaker. Cypress has made it possible for you to pit your skills against PSoC Express and Cypress Principal Applications Engineer and Member of Technical Staff, Dave Van Ess, and win prizes while you’re at it!
Working within PSoC Express, Van Ess has developed the RPS program that learns from its opponent's behavior. In order to showcase the versatility of PSoC Express, Cypress has made it possible for anyone to try their luck at the game.
Simply visit www.cypress.com/express, register, and start playing. Each week, registered players will be included in a weekly drawing for a free First Touch kit and a monthly drawing for an Apple® iPod™ nano. If you hit the scoreboard, you’ll get a free t-shirt as well.

New White Paper Showcases HI-TECH Compiler That Effectively Doubles PSoC Code Capacity
A new white paper available on Cypress.com explains how the HI-TECH C PRO for the PSoC Mixed-Signal Array compiler can double the code capacity of a PSoC device without forcing the designer to hand-craft assembly language.
The new compiler employs "omniscient code generation" (OCG) technology. It analyses every variable, function, stack, register and pointer in each and every program module, before it generates the object code. See how it works and the benefits it provides. A generous 45-day trial of the full version is available to try out now.
