Spansion Receives Strategic Partner Award From Longcheer

Last Updated: May 09, 2007

BEIJING, May 9, 2007 -- Spansion Inc. (Nasdaq: SPSN), the world's largest pure-play provider of Flash memory solutions, today announced that it has received the Strategic Partner Award from Longcheer, an independent design house for mobile handsets. Spansion has been providing its proprietary MirrorBit(R) NOR Flash memory solutions for Longcheer's mobile handset designs for more than four years.

With the rapid growth of consumer demand for more multi-media features in their handsets, mainstream mobile phones are requiring higher NOR Flash memory density to support advanced functionalities such as high-definition cameras, stereo sound, CD-quality MP3 players and navigation. By presenting Spansion with this award, Longcheer endorses Spansion's extensive MirrorBit NOR Flash memory product portfolio and strong technical and delivery support services, all of which enable handset OEMs to innovate more quickly, efficiently and broadly.

"Our Strategic Partner Award is given to companies who help us design competitive mobile handsets with their innovative technologies, products and support," said Dr. Junhong Du, CEO of Longcheer. "As the world's leading Flash memory supplier, Spansion's cutting-edge NOR Flash memory enables us to deliver industry-leading mobile handset designs to our customers. Spansion's excellent technical and delivery support are also key to achieving our successes."

Spansion provides the industry's most comprehensive NOR Flash memory solutions with densities ranging from 16Mb to 1Gb, offering designers more flexible choices to address the range of handset segment demands.

"Winning the Strategic Partner Award is a recognition of Spansion's long- term commitment to Longcheer and the Chinese mobile handset industry," said Gary Wang, corporate vice president and general manager, Spansion Inc., Asia Pacific. "Spansion will continue to work closely with Longcheer to deliver high-quality product performance and bring positive user experiences to the mobile industry."
