Spansion Names Tokyo Electron Limited (TEL) World Class Supplier of the Year
Company Selects Best-in-Class Suppliers for 2007
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct 02, 2008 -- Spansion Inc. (Nasdaq: SPSN), the world's largest pure-play provider of Flash memory solutions, today announced that it has selected Tokyo Electron Limited (TEL), a leading global supplier of semiconductor production equipment, as the World Class Supplier of the Year for 2007. TEL was chosen for its exceptional technical support and expertise for Spansion's front end technologies. Spansion also named STATSChipPAC and Toppan as Best-in-Class suppliers for 2007.

Spansion's World Class Supplier cross-site and cross-functional teams reviewed the suppliers, compared them against their peers and chose the best of the best to honor with awards. In addition to the Supplier of the Year and Best-in-Class Awards, 16 companies received Achievement Awards for their work with Spansion, which established the awards program to drive leadership in technology, quality and logistics processes. Spansion will present the awards to its valued suppliers during the months of September and October.
