SAN JOSE, Calif., June 1, 2005 - Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE: CY) today announced that its president and CEO, T.J. Rodgers, will deliver the keynote address at Santa Clara University's Engineering Achievement Awards 2005 Ceremony. The event will be held at the university's Mayer Theater on Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time (PDT). Rodgers' presentation is titled "Silicon Valley Attacking New Problems: Renewable Energy." 

The Santa Clara University Engineering Achievement Awards Ceremony honors alumni and faculty members of the School of Engineering, who have distinguished themselves through outstanding professional achievement, noteworthy community service, or exemplary dedication to the university. The event is open to the public.

T.J. Rodgers remains one of the foremost leaders in the world of semiconductor technology. As a graduate student at Stanford University, Rodgers invented, developed, and patented a process that became the precursor to technology now at the core of semiconductor manufacturing. In 1982 Rodgers founded Cypress, a leading technology company based in the Silicon Valley.  Dr. Rodgers is a member of the board of trustees at Dartmouth College, where he graduated as Salutatorian with degrees in both physics and chemistry.  In 2005, he was inducted into the Silicon Valley Engineering Council Hall of Fame.
