Cypress University Alliance Director To Deliver Address At Kiev Polytechnic Institute's XXVIII International Scientific Conference

Presentation on April 15 Will Offer Insight into the Cypress Innovator Design Challenge

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 25, 2008 - Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE: CY) today announced that its University Alliance Director, Patrick Kane, will speak at Kiev Polytechnic Institute's XXVIII International Scientific Conference on April 15, 2008. Kane will present "Encouraging Student Innovation: The Cypress Innovator Design Challenge." His presentation will discuss the history of the contest; explain its objectives, and highlight projects from past winners.

The Cypress Innovator Design Challenge is a multi-discipline engineering design contest open to all undergraduate and graduate engineering students currently enrolled in an accredited university. The contest's goal is to challenge students to stretch their imaginations as they develop new and novel ways to utilize Cypress technologies such as the PSoC® mixed-signal array. Cypress will also be holding a PSoC academic workshop that will include an introduction to PSoC and a hands-on lab session teaching concepts and practical applications of PSoC design." The workshop will also introduce attendees to Cypress's PSoC Express™ visual embedded development software and the PSoC FirstTouch™ Starter Kit. Professors who attend the workshop will use a FirstTouch kit to visually implement an array of applications, and will keep the kit free of charge for use in developing coursework that teaches analog, digital and microcontroller concepts.

Several other noted professors will be making presentations regarding their use of Cypress PSoC devices in education. These include Dr. Rajesh Gupta of University of California San Diego and Professor Martin Bradley of Letterkenny Institute of Technology who will be showcasing "Fred the PSoC Powered Robo Skeleton."
