Cypress to Discuss PCI-Express Compliance Requirements at Via Technology Forum

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 28, 2004 - Cypress Semiconductor Corp (NYSE: CY) today announced that Elie Ayache, director of marketing for Cypress's Timing Technology Division, will present a paper on PCI-Express at the Via Technology Forum (VTF) on June 3 from 4:05 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. in the Hall 1 Ballroom at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Taipei, Taiwan. 

During the High Definition Computing track, Mr. Ayache will discuss PCI-Express signaling and compliance requirements.   During the presentation, he will highlight PCI-Express measurement equipment available today as well as some of the methodology used to determine compliance. He will also review the role a serial reference clock (SRC) plays in compliance and what a system designer should consider to minimize problems in a PCI-Express system.

Mr. Ayache has worked at Cypress for the last three years, having previously held marketing and engineering positions at International Microcircuits and Silicon Systems. He holds several patents for clock management and "green PC" applications. Mr. Ayache earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) from Santa Clara University.

The VIA Technology Forum (VTF) 2004 consists of two one-day events: one in Taipei on Thursday, June 3rd, and one in Beijing on Tuesday, June 8.  The program includes keynote presentations given by senior executives of VIA, industry experts and high level representatives of industry partners, followed by a series of Specialist Technology Tracks in which VIA and its partners will deliver in-depth market, technological innovation and product information seminars.
