Switching from Slave FIFO to GPIF for FX1/FX2LP

Last Updated: April 03, 2011
Question:

How long does it take in CPU instruction cycles to switch from the slave FIFO to GPIF interface?

Answer:

The Slave FIFO interface to GPIF is done by simply writing to the IFCFG[1:0] bits in the IFCONFIG register. Since this is a MOVX instruction, it would take a minimum of two instruction cycles. Each instruction takes four clock cycles to execute.
