Programming Failure Debugging Tips

I am getting the following error "Socket 1 ... Programming Error" when I attempt to program the device. I can read it fine but cannot write into it. (Possible errors)

The data, shown above, read by the programmer from

CY22394 is a signature of one of the following:

  1. The socket Adapter is not the correct one. Make sure you use CY3672ADP003 socket adapter (marketing part number CY3698).
  2. Bad contact between device pads and socket pins. Please visually verify good connection of the socket pins to the part pads.
  3. Bad Device Orientation. Please check the device pin 1 orientation indicated by the symbol in the top right corner of the programmer.
  4. You did not select

    CY22394 from the device list. Please make sure to select

    CY22393 by double clicking on

    CY22394 from the device list that is shown after starting the software. Leave the settings on default and click start in the

    CY22394F setting... pop-up window. Device driver is then downloaded into the programmer and prompts you to browse to your JEDEC file location.
