Finger sensing with high offset level of Sensor Capacitance (100pF)
Question: Can you recognize a finger and exclude other materials of the sensor with an offset level of 100pF?
Response: The CapSense User Module computes a signal called Baseline that tracks the average level of the raw counts. The Baseline provides a reference level that makes it easier to sense small change in
capacitance on top of a large level of fixed sensor capacitance. Although it is possible to sense changes with an offset level of 100pF, it is challenging and not recommended for a first design. The typical upper limit for sensor for a first design is in the range of 60-80pF.
