CY3250 Flex Cable - Invalid Memory Reference

Last Updated: March 27, 2011

When I use CY3250 flex cable, I receive an error “Invalid Memory Reference”. I am not able to use the cable to emulate / debug.

Unfortunately, there were some bad CY3250 flex cables shipped and these cables have the above problem.

As the good cables and the bad cables both show the same part number (CY3250-FLEXCABLE) and revision (**), the only way to verify that a cable is good is that it has a ground layer added so when you hold it up to the light, you cannot see through it.

The bad cables have a datecode of 0725 or 0735 and when you hold them up to the light, you can see through the cable because there is no ground layer

The workaround is to replace the cable. Please contact the Cypress Distibutor/Sales Office from where you have purchased the cable so that they can arrange for a replacement. We sincerely apologise for this mistake.
