CYUSB3326 + Shared Link
i'm using the CYUSB3326 for a USB-hub with integrated USB-SATA converter design.
The plan is, to use 3 DS of the USB3.0 in their normal configuration and one DS as a shared link to have an extra USB on the hub.
1) The first question now is: the CYUSB3326 has two shared link ports, is there any restriction for them, which ports of the hub can be declared as shared link ports? (e.g.: DS1 and DS2 are SL, DS3 and DS4 are not; any DS can be SL but not more than two of them; ...) Has anybody an idea?
2) i have the CY4603 and the 4613 eval board to test several functions of the USB hub (4603 for testing strapping options and 4613 for testing the sared link option). As far as I understood, the SL can only be used with an internal USB3.0 (not removabel device) and an external USB2.0 port (plug and play, removeable), but on the evalboard it's possible to plug an USB3.0 evice during running. So my question is: have i understood anything wrong, or why can this work? What damages can happen, if i hot-plug an USB3.0 device?
Anybody here who has answers to my questions?
