CY7C68013A - Driver Update issue from 32 bit XP to 64 bit Windows 7
I have a built device that utilises a CY7C68013A chip for USB communication, I have been using 32bit Windows XP to control the device hardware and it works well. The 32 bits driver in the work station contains four files: ezmon.sys, ezusb.sys, ezusbw2k and an *.hex file. When the system is plugged in to the work station, the device manager recognizes the device as ' Cypress EZ-USB FX2 (68613) - EEPROM missing'.
Recently the work station's OS was upgraded to 64 bits Windows 7. I recon the driver needs to be updated as well and I downloaded the following two packages:
- SuiteUSB 3.4 - USB Development tools for Visual Studio
- CY3684 EZ-USB FX2LP Development Kit
I tried the cyusb.sys and cyusb3.sys driver provided by both kits (Igoring the digital signature warning.) The driver could both be installed correctly (after altering the *.inf file). Now when I plugged in the device to the work station, the device manager correctly recognizes the USB chip as ' Cypress FX2LP No EEPROM Device'.
However when I tried to operate the system, it always showed the 'No Cypress USB devices detected' warning message...and I have no clue the reason of this error message.
I am now suspecting that it is the extra *.hex file that I need to modify in order to make the CY7C68013A communicate with the 64 bit Windows OS? However I do not know what to do with this *.hex file.
Can anyone please help me with this issue?
