please describe how to clock PSoC5LP at 80 MHz in PSoC Creator 3.0 SP1.
At least use a CY8C5488AXI-LP120 then you can get as near as 79.5 MHz which is within the tolerance.
Hi, thanks Bob. But according the new version CY8C58LP_001-84932_0F all CY8C58LP should be tactable at PLL at 80 MHz. The PSoC Creator Version 3.0 SP1 restricts the CY8C5868LP-035 to cca 67 MHz. Please where can we change the maximum allowable PLL frequency in PSoC Creator.
I cannot find the 80MHz mentioned for CY8C58xx. But when I use the device selector from within Creator I can fing some 80MHz devices.
according to the last version of PSoC5LP datasheet all devices are now specified to be capable DC to 80 MHz. Datasheet included ....
.... from the datasheet ....
32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 core plus DMA controller and digital filter processor, at up to 80 MHz
So this raises even more questions -
1) Is Creator device selector most current info ?
2) Or is datasheet most current ?
3) Or would one file a CASE contacting tech support to clear up any inconsistencies ?
Given that 1) and 2) lag points of decision, 1) more so than 2).
I am betting on 3).

The part "CY8C5868AXI-LP035" has max frequency of 67 MHz.
If you want 80MHz then select parts "CY8C5888AXI-LP096" or "CY8C5888LTI-LP097".
See section 12 Table 12-1 for selecting part which has 80 MHz max frequency.
