Problem statement:

CY8CKIT is not responding to the CANape command, When the CY8CKIT is unplugged and plugged in again in the COM port.

Expected behavior: CY8CKIT should respond for CANape command

Actual behavior: CY8CKIT not receiving command from CANape (But CANape sent the command to COM port ).

Note:  If CANape is reopened (Close and opened newly), after CY8CKIT is unplugged and plugged in USB port, it working fine (CANape can able to connect and read variable successfully from CY8CKIT)

Here, CANape sent the “connect” command to CY8CKIT after plug in CY8CKIT. But CY8CKIT is not receiving any command from CANape.

Kindly refer attachment for code reference

1) Could please give solution for this problem?
2) Why the CANape command is not received in CY8CKIT when CY8CKIT is unplugged and plugged in USB port

Please mention which Cypress Kit are you using ,CY8CKIT-059 or CY8CKIT-050.

Check whether host is actually  sending data over USB when CY8CKIT is unplugged and plugged in USB port.

We are using CY8CKIT-059 . We can see the Host data in CANape log. CANape sent "CONNECT" command to CYC8KIT.

Please refer attachment. Thanks

Hello

We have seen the screenshot of the tool. But can you please confirm if the data has been transferred over USB. If possible can you attach the USB packet trace.

Thanks,

Hima

Dear Hima,

We have connected the CANape with cypress cy8ckit - 059 over USB. CANape communicates via SXI(serial) over USB. Could you please teach me  how to trace the USB packets.

Regards,

Mohan

Hello

For taking trace you must need a hardware similar to http://www.totalphase.com/products/beagle-usb480/. You need to download a software : http://www.totalphase.com/products/data-center/ also, which will show all the USB packets.

Thanks,

Hima

Hello Hima,

Thanks for FAST reply.

We traced USB data by using tool "Device Monitoring Studio" form http://www.hhdsoftware.com/

Find the USB_Trace log in attachment and corresponding CANape log also.

Please help to solve this issue and kindly let me know if more details are required. Thanks.

Hello Mohan,

I'm not sure if this issue entirely depend on the firmware in PSoC5LP. It will depend on the source code of the analyzer code also.

Applications like TeraTerm etc will not get attached when you suddenly unplug the cable.

This is mentioned in KBA:http://www.cypress.com/knowledge-base-article/usbuart-not-detected-when-...

Thanks,

Hima
