CY8KIT-042 bootloader woes -- or stupidity on my part
I have tried a number of bootloaders including the UART_bootloader example that came with PSoC 3.0 SP1 as well as the v1.2 bootloader I downloaded. I am not a novice at embedded processors (done quite a bit on AVR, PIC, and even 8051), so this is frustrating. Here is my question:
Based upon the diagram on the board, all the documentation, and tracing the board itself, the USB-to-UART chip on that breakaway header board feeds into the processor via a a bridge correctly and clearly named Rx and Tx and processor pins 4.0 and 4.1. I can compile the Bootloader/Bootloadable stuff in all cases just fine with ONE problem: I cannot map incoming Rx/Tx to pins 4.0/4.1 on the processor which are the connection points! I tried both UART models (SCB and, I presume, UDB). It just will not let me do it.
How am I supposed to proceed.... What I am missing?
