Case created.
While the question to those who have installed SP2:
You can see the keil activation tab (Help->Register->Keil)?

Hmmm, are they abandoning the rather old-fashioned 8051 core products ;-) I've never seen a reason to use a PSoC3 when the PSoC5LP was introduced. Or can you tell me what the advantages of the PSoC3 chips are?

Well there are:

- price, manufacturing technology, arm licensing costs (!)

- QFN48 Package, PSoC 5 is QFN68 only

- existing and qualified designs (!!)

e.g. my company is using PSoC 3 in a commercial product...

price, manufacturing technology, arm licensing costs (!) Only the basic price is what you will have to pay, and the difference doesn't seem to be too much. What you get more (for newer designs at least): faster execution times, easy to use RTOSses, no C-language workarounds...

We have a new design in development that is using PSoC 5 with WLCSP package. I'am aware of the advantages. The ported design is ready for testing. But some years ago the smallest packages were only available with PSoC 3. CPU speed was okay for our purposes that time. So we went with PSoC 3.

For the pricing I mean, that you'll get lesser prices using PSoC 3 than PSoC 5, because the chip is much cheaper (no arm stuff, lower manuf. technology etc.)..

I agree, but some devices work.
Sometimes, they need an easy upgrade.
It's a pity to throw away(((.
 ....and PSoC5 (no LP) too.
