CCG2 60W Car Charger Reference Design using Southchip

The CCG2 60W Car Charger Reference Design Board is a receptacle based USB-C Charger with USB PD 2.0 support. In the PD mode, it supports 5V@3A, 9V@3A, 12V@3A, 15V@3A and 20V@3A output.  The board can be programmed to support any output voltage between 0 to 20V. It is designed to work with standard Car Lighter Attachment (CLA). It works with any DC input between 2.7V to 30V.

The two major components on the board are Cypress’s EZ-PD CCG2 (CYPD2134-24LQXIT) controller and Southchip’s SC8701 DC-DC Buck-Boost controller. 

The CCG2 device handles USB Type-C interface and Power Delivery (PD) 2.0  The buck-boost conversion, Over Current Protection (OCP) and Over Voltage Protection (OVP) are handled by Southchip's SC8701 DC-DC Buck-Boost controller. The board hardware design files (schematic,  layout etc) and firwmware are readily available below for customers to reduce the design cycle.
