Reduced BOM Schematic for CYUSB330x family of HX3 USB 3.0 HUB Controller

This Reduced BOM schematic for the HX3 CYUSB330x family is designed to enable customers to build a low cost USB 3.0 hub that meets USB-IF certification requirements.

Optional features available in the CY4609 RDK (which demonstrates the CYUSB330x family) such as the External EEPROM, Port Status Indicator LEDs, Overvoltage Protection IC, Reset Button, Mode Select Jumper Blocks and Diodes for additional ESD/EMI protection have been excluded.

The features supported are:

  1. 4 Downstream (DS) USB 3.0 ports
  2. Supports Battery Charging v1.2 on all Downstream ports
  3. Supports Ghost Charging™
  4. Supports ganged DS port power control - supplies current up to 5A across all DS ports

The Reduced BOM design continues to support HX3 configuration through the Blaster Plus utility , when used with either an external EEPROM or an I 2 C Master.
