This application note explains how to enhance the user experience in 2.4-GHz wireless human interface device (HID) applications by adding capacitive touch-sensing user interfaces with PRoC™-CS, a single-chip solution that combines CapSense® technology with a 2.4-GHz, GFSK-modulated 1-Mbps wireless transceiver. This application note includes firmware example projects to illustrate the implementation of CapSense based user interfaces on wireless mouse, remote control, and numeric keyboard applications. It also includes design files and instructions for the set of boards that run the example projects. 

Introduction

Cypress' PRoC-CS integrates CapSense technology, an 8-bit MCU and a 2.4GHz proprietary wireless radio in a single-chip. PRoC-CS enables developers to replace mechanical components such as scroll-wheels and buttons with reliable and aesthetically superior CapSense user interfaces.

The application note illustrates how to implement CapSense user interfaces in wireless HID solutions. AN86272 - PRoC™-CS Hardware Design Guidelines should be able to help you in designing your own wireless HID systems with PRoC-CS.
