Version 9.61 of the HI-TECH-Lite C compiler is now available for use with PSoC Designer 4.4. Running the PSoC Express 3.0 Express Pack 5 installer will perform the installation of version 9.61 of the HI-TECH-Lite C compiler for PSoC Designer 4.4 as long as PSoC Express 3.0 is currently installed on your system. If you prefer not to install PSoC Express 3.0 you must go to the HITECH website at and download version 9.61 from there and install it for PSoC Designer 4.4 only. Note: If you prefer to install version 9.61 of the HI-HITEC Lite C compiler using Cypress installation tools, you must first insure that PSoC Express 3.0 has been installed on your system and then update by installing the Cypress Express Pack 5.  Please refer to the release notes for Express Pack 5 for more information and the subtle effects this will make on PSoC Designer 4.4 when updating to version 9.61 of the HI-TECH-Lite C compiler.  Release notes can be found at http://www.cypress.com/design/SD1096

Service Pack 3 is now available and brings PSoC Designer 4.4 up to date with all service packs and extension pack updates. PSoC Designer Service Pack 3 can be installed on any computer that has PSoC Designer 4.4 installed. No other service packs are required before installing this service pack.

This is the second release of Service Pack 3 for PSoC Designer 4.4. It corrects a problem with the installation of the initial release of Service Pack 3. The issue was User Modules for the CY8CLEDxx family of devices were made unavailable for placement. No other PSoC Designer 4.4 functionality was affected. Versions of Service Pack 3 downloaded after March 10, 2008 do not have this problem.

To correct a previous Service Pack 3 installation and restore proper behavior of all CY8CLEDxx User Modules within PSoC Designer 4.4, simply run the installation of the current Service Pack 3 again.

Download Instructions

1. PSoC Designer 4.4, if not previously installed.
2. Service Pack 3 (SP3) for critical bug fixes and new device families.
3. PSoC Programmer 2.33.0.1, if not previously installed.

Note: If PSoC Designer 4.4 is already installed, only Service Pack 3 needs to be downloaded and installed to bring PSoC Designer fully up to date. This is true regardless of whether any previous service or extension packs have been installed or not.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you participated in the PSoC Designer v.4.4 BETA 1 and you are using Windows Vista, you will not see the addition of the EP_LED Extension Pack after installing this update.  To see the EP_LED Extension Pack you must run the manifest utility.  To run the utility, go to the Tools menu and select Refresh Manifest.
Installation issues on all Microsoft Windows operating systems:

1. The following error message will occur four times during USB driver installation:  Driver has not passed Windows Logo Testing.  When you proceed with installation, the drivers will successfully install.
2. The uninstall feature will only remove files that were installed by the installer.   
3. The PSoC Designer v.  4.4 installer writes over your current version, and no longer asks if you want to remove the previous version. If you remove PSoC Designer v. 4.4, there will be some files from PSoC Designer v. 4.3 that will remain in the installed folder.
4. There may be a choice of two drivers for the MiniProg and ICE-Cube, if you previously had PSoC Designer installed on your computer.
   "USB Mini Programmer"
   "USB Mini Programmer (Mar19,2007)"
   Choose the Mar19, 2007 driver, which is the most recent driver.
