Remembering Bob Pease

If you never read Pease Porridge and you have any interest in Analog, you really should go peruse Bob Pease's column at Electornic Design.  Bob Pease was an Analog engineering legend who worked for National Semiconductor and wrote a very popular monthly column called Pease Porridge.  He wrote eight books and held 21 patents.  His clear, simple explinations of analog circuts and his wry humor inspired a generation of engineers to learn a bit more about the black magic of Analog circuits.  Bob passed away in 2011 at the age of 70 in an car accident but his influence and designs will remain in basic circuits for generations.

I had the pleasure of working a few desks away from Bob, and later in a field engineering capacity. Bob was a rare breed, who tackled some of the most difficult problems in analog and understood the nuances of passives to a degree rarley seen in our field. He always had time for any level of question, was very aware of need to mentor new engineers, a best in class example what a great professional should be. There are a number of us that will miss Bob and try to continue spreading his knowledge.

Regards, Dana Knight.
