Hackster Sensing the World Contest - Aquaponics Monitoring and Control System

Here's an update on one of the winners of the "Sensing the World" Contest with our partner, Hackster. 
Narashiman Parthasarathy built an Aquaponics Monitoring and Control System (AMACS) using Cypress' PSoC Analog Coprocessor.  Firstly, to give a brief description of aquaponics, it's a system of aquaculture in which the waste produced by farmed fish or other aquatic animals supplies nutrients for plants grown hydroponically, which in turn purifies the water. The PSoC Analog Coprocessor based AMACS monitors the environmental conditions, and other factors such as pH, conductivity and temperature of water, flow rate of water, and water level of a tank and a growing bed. It interfaces with 4 different kinds of sensors to create this monitoring system: pH sensor, water level sensor, turbidity sensor, and temperature sensor. Also, the system autonomously controls the water and pH levels, provides early predictions of failure cases, and gives alerts if there are failures (such as quality of water, water shortage, power cut off).
