Realityworks

I am in Minneapolis. I will be at the Avnet Xfest tomorrow (Stop by and I will buy you a beer).  Today I went to visit Jeremiah Bauer and Shane Mooney at Realityworks. They make the computerized dolls that simulate what a true pain in the butt a baby can be. I was impressed with the work that went into them. The students are always finding ways to trick the system and they find solutions. Someone figured that if you but the doll in the freezer the batteries would go low and put the system to sleep. They fixed that with a PSoC. The doll is full of sensors to detect if the doll has been abused. They use magnetic detectors to detect if the diaper has been changed. They also had a magnetic bottle detector for the mouth. They changed the design when students figured out the magnet in the diaper were stronger than the bottle magnets. They would just throw a diaper on the babies face and it would stop crying. That never worked with my kids/

They have fourteen different ethic types and of course two genders. Apparently the lesson works better if the student learns to despise a baby of its own race. The goal is to try to delay pregnancies. Models built for Japan are built to make the baby experience enjoyable as possible. Japan has a very low birth rate. They also only order male babies.

The first picture is of me shaking one of the shake models. It has a clear head and LEDs showing the damaged area. Apparently I took out the frontal lobe and the vision center in the back of the brain.

The next baby is a healthy male model. The detail of the models is amazing.

The next picture is my holding a female fetal alcohol syndrome model.  The detail is disturbing. Note the smaller head and lowered ears. The fingers and toes show classic FAS details and there is of course the lack of muscle development. After about 10 minutes I had them put her back. I don’t see how a pregnant woman could drink after seeing one of these.

They had a crack baby model but I didn’t get a picture.

Here is a company that makes a product they believe will help make society better. Building a quality product with engineers trying to make it even better. Work doesn’t get better than that.

According to the consultant of Essay Writing Service At the season of the birth, the medical attendants will frequently put dark or red ink on the palms of the child's hands, and the bottoms of its feet, to make a print of them on an uncommon card for you to bring home. They may likewise wrap up the umbilical harmony for you to bring home as a keepsake. A few healing centers even give blessings of garments to the children.
