ASEE

I went to a conference for the American Society of Engineering Education a few weeks back (Hint this knowledge may get you a prize at some other blog site).  I am finding that professor seem a lot more interested in real hands on training.  The day of modeling a fan controler on Matlab and then using it to run a simulated fan are going away.  Engineer labs should be fun exciting and maybe even dangerous.  I got a 440V shock back in my motors class.  I learned not to make that mistake again.  One student put a shunt directly across Main power and it turned into a bunch o of beryium copper balls bouncing on the lad bench.  One bounced right onto the back of the hand of his professor.  I dodn't know professor had such an extensive vocabuary.
