Another new shirt that makes me look fat

New logo shirt? Tight khaki pants? This can only mean one thing. It's the Embedded Systems Conference! Or Design West as it is now known.

I cannot say I like the name change. Where I come from to "go west" implies a short, uncontrollable burst of lunacy! Maybe that's right after all. Only time will tell.

Anyway, if you're in San Jose and have nothing better to do then stop by the ARM booth and say "hello". There'll be at least one Cypress guy, all kitted out in logo shirt and once-a-year pants, on hand throughout the event to give you a demo and answer any PSoC-y questions you like.

Welcome to Creator Comforts, a small room with big squashy bean bags where Mark Saunders rambles on about software. Longer ago than he'll care to admit, young Mark's window cleaning business came to an untimely end when his dad asked for his ladder back. His entrepreneurial dreams crushed, he decided that academia was his true calling and he attended the University of Leeds, in England, where he obtained a degree in Physics with Astrophysics. After realizing that the only job that pays less than a window cleaner is a physicist, he bluffed his way into a software company and moved to California. Despite having no relevant qualifications and even less semiconductor experience, Mark joined Cypress in 2006 and remains convinced that "the hardware guys will never figure out that I'm clueless"
