Cypress’s FleXO™ family of high-performance timing solutions serves networking, communications, computing, wireless infrastructure, and storage applications. The equipment such as switches and routers used in these applications typically has high-speed serial interfaces, such as 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet, 1/10 Gigabit Fibre Channel, SONET/SDH, serial ATA, PCI Express, and backplane SerDes, to reliably exchange data at gigabit speeds. At these speeds, PHYs and SerDes require high-frequency differential clock sources with extremely low phase jitter to minimize bit errors. FleXO clock synthesizers can be programmed to produce any output frequency up to 690 MHz while achieving ultra low phase jitter (<1 ps RMS). FleXO clock devices are more fl exible and cost-effective than traditional, high-frequency crystal oscillators and SAW oscillators, while offering superior performance and fl exibility compared to competing external crystal silicon timing devices.
