AN51234 discusses serial peripheral interface (SPI) and how PSoC® 1 handles SPI communications.

This discussion includes a brief overview of SPI, each SPI user module (UM) and their associated API. In addition, special SPI considerations are discussed, such as, SPI modes, multi-slave systems, 16-bit transfers, and inter-byte delay. After reading this application note you should have an understanding of how SPI works, and how it is implemented in PSoC 1.
