This note discusses using CRC codes to insure data integrity over high-speed serial links, such as Fibre Channel, ESCON and other standards supported by Cypress's CY7B923 and CY7B933 HOTLink devices.It also shows why parity is not useful and then describes the most common CRC codes(CRC-16 and CRC-32) used in high-speed communications systems.
