PRoC-UI (Programmable Radio-on-Chip – User Interface) is Cypress' new integrated touch + wireless, System-on-Chip (SoC). It combines the low-power 2.4-GHz proprietary WirelessUSB™-NL Radio-on-a-Chip with Cypress's CapSense® and TrueTouch® capacitive touch technologies. PRoC-UI enables user interface functionality in wireless devices, including gestures that are compatible with the Windows 8™ applications.

The one-chip solution also offers standard HID microcontroller functionality, effectively combining three chips into one to save BOM cost, board space, and power, while increasing reliability compared with multi-chip implementations.

PRoC-UI Variants:

PRoC- CS (CapSense Variant)
PRoC-CS adds Cypress' leading capacitive touch sensing engine with the WUSB-NL, a mature wireless 2.4GHz radio. It supports capacitive touch buttons, sliders, proximity sensors and haptics. PRoC-CS comes bundled with Cypress' SmartSense® technology for easy set up and tuning. The integrated capacitive sensing controller has an ultra low deep sleep current of 100nA and a low active current of 7µA per sensor at 500ms scan rate. PRoC-CS is available in 40-QFN and 68-QFN packages (CYRF89435-40LTXC & CYRF89435-68LTXC).

PRoC-TT (TrueTouch Variant)
Extending the touch advantage further, PRoC-TT supports capacitive touch with one and two finger gestures in addition to WUSB-NL, the proprietary wireless 2.4GHz radio. The integrated touch controller supports up to 26 sensor inputs and has fast scan rates of 400µs per sensor. Moreover PRoC-TT has a full function gesture library with Windows 8 support. PRoC-TT is available in 68-QFN packages (CYRF89535-68LTXC).

PRoC-USB (USB Variant)
PRoC-USB integrates the WUSB-NL radio-on-a-chip with the enCoRe V MCU and supports full speed USB (up to 12Mbps). It enables small form factor design for dongles and nano dongles. PRoC-USB is available in 40-QFN packages (CYRF89235-40LTXC).

PRoC-EMB (Embedded Variant)
PRoC-EMB integrates enCoRe V LV MCU and the low power, 2.4GHz WUSB-NL radio. It supports up to 35 GPIOs with an on-board ADC and is compatible with existing WUSB-NL based designs. With 32KB of on-board flash memory, PRoC-EMB has ample space for advanced HID protocols. PRoC-EMB is available in 68 QFN packages (CYRF89135-68LTXC).
