CY22393/CY22394/CY22395 devices and In-System Programmability

Last Updated: 04/18/2012

Can the CY22393, CY22394 and CY22395 devices be programmed in-system?

CY22393/4/5 devices are not in-system programmable devices. While one can reconfigure their SRAM configuration memory in-system by using the I2C pins, their non-volatile flash memory cannot be programmed in-system. Programming the flash memory involves complex programming waveforms with critical timing and voltage level specifications. Hence, programming the non-volatile memory of CY22393/4/5 devices requires using a programmer such as the CY3672-USB with a proper socket adaptor or other Cypress-qualified third party programming platforms such as those from BP Microsystems, Hi-Lo and Systems General.
