Programming fails

I've got a CY8CKit-050 which usually worked as expected on my windows vista machine.

Out of the blue when I wanted to program an already working project after programming all the blocks I received a "programming failed" error with the hint that the communication was lost.

A test on another PC with windows 7 showed that the board was alright and could be programmed.

Can anybody direct me what to change in my win vista Creator 2.1 installation to get that working again?

Bob

Hi Bob,

Which PSoC Programmer version are you using? Check for connections and settings on the board are correct. Now, try programming using the Programmer directly instead of using the PSoC Creator. If direct programming works, then try restarting your machine and  see if now programming works through PSoC Creator.

I checked that I use the very latest programmer version 3.15.1

As I found out by some more investigations: The Kit-050 PSoC gets programmed correctly, but at the point of connecting to the debugger afterwards the connection is timed-out and debugging no longer works.

Any suggestions?

 Is this problem fixed?

Have you enabled debugging for your project. You can check this in .cydwr (design wide resources) file, systems tab.

Which method of programming are you using? Reset mode or power cycle mode?

Problem still exists. Since it is a Kit-050 It gets programmed via USB-bridge, not with Miniprog3. Yes, debugging is enabled.

I suppose the problem may be related to USB-configuration on a win vista PC.

 Hi Bob

I had this exact same issue on a windows Vista laptop.

I found that if I disabled all the bluetooth services it worked perfectly. I don't know why and I don't have that laptop anymore.

I'm guessing it was some timing critical thing that wasn't able to get through the cheap USB Controller on my laptop.

Thank you, I'll try that and keep you informed!
