GPIF II interface power domian

 Hi,

I am now trying to connect the GPIF II interface with an electrical signal from a signal generator to see if the signal could go through to the PC.

However, I can't find any power domain for J77A, J77B, J1 or J2 from the data sheet. (Can I use any of these?)

-Can anyone tell me about the voltage domains of these connectors? (also, are there any ESRs to protect the connectors?)

-What kind of cable and port shall I use to interconnect the signal with the connectors? (QSH-060-01-L-D-A receptacle interconnected to J77? But I can't find any cable which fits QSH-060-01-L-D-A)

Thanks a lot.

Best Regards

Jiajia

 Hi,

Yes, you need to use any of these.

Please look into pindescription section of datasheet http://www.cypress.com/?docID=42613 page 16.

We can provide gerber files for QSH-060-01-L-D-A to FMC or HSMC connector.

 Hi, PRJI

Thank you so much.

I will ask you again about the gerber file for the FMC or HSMC connector when we test with an external chip.

For this stage, Shall I use a single wire to try each pin of J77 to see if the signal from the function generator will go through?

Best Regards

 Hi,

You can try but I'm not sure about the signal quality and coupling to nearby pins. Waht is your operating frequency?

Hi,

I tried with different frequency signals but can neither receive nor transmit any on GPIF II interface. I tried on all the corresponding databus pins (GPIO(0) to GPIO(8)) using the firmware (attached), it's not woring,

Can you help me to figure out what the problem could be ?

Best Regards

Jiajia

Hi, What about the control signals? Please go through http://www.cypress.com/?docID=41690 for more details on GPIF II interface. Which firmware are you using? -PRJI
