Cypress EZ USB Suite elf2img (Windows 7)

After installing the FX3 SDK v 1.2.3, 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Cypress\EZ-USB FX3 SDK\1.2\bin\' is added to the PATH variable. However, I cannot convert the .elf file to a .img file using the provided makefile script in Cypress EZ USB Suite (Eclipse) by adding the following line:

-"C:\Program Files (x86)\Cypress\EZ-USB FX3 SDK\1.2\util\elf2img\elf2img.exe" -i USBVideoClass.elf -o cyfxuvc.img

due to the following error:

/usr/bin/sh: C:\Program Files (x86)\Cypress\EZ-USB FX3 SDK\1.2\util\elf2img\elf2img.exe: command not found

cs-make[1]: [post-build] Error 127 (ignored)

I have tried adding 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Cypress\EZ-USB FX3 SDK\1.2\util\' to the PATH variable without success. Is there a workaround that will let me easily run the elf2img program, or a PATH I can add to make this work? I noticed that all of the makefiles I looked at only built the .elf file, and not the .img file. I need the .img file to load onto the FX3.

Are you not using Eclipse IDE to build the project?

If yes, then Eclipse should take care of elf to img conversion as the path to elftoimg.exe and the required arguements are stored in the C/C++ Build settings for all the SDK projects.

Please see the attached image.

You can even use command prompt to create an img file if you have elf.

The instructions are available in the Readme.txt provided along with the elftoimg.exe in the "util" folder of FX3 SDK.

NIKL, thank you for your response. Yes, I used Eclipse to build the program, and confirm that I have the exact same post-build settings for the project. I still receive the same error when compiling, but using command line allowed me to build the .img file.

I think, The post-builder does not recognize special character such as "(" and ")". Please try like this, 1. Copy elf2img folder to another folder(ex, c:\cypress\util\elf2img) 2. edit command of the post-build steps (ex, c:\cypress\util\elf2img\elf2img.exe -i ${ProjName}.elf -o ${ProjName}.img

I am getting the same problem,  I have switched folders for the elf2img and i get the same error.  I have done 6 installations on different windows machines, windows 7 and 8.  I can run the command from the command promt but its annoying to do that step.

"/usr/bin/sh: C:\Cypress\EZ-USB FX3 SDK\1.2\util\elf2img\elf2img.exe: command not found"
