Typical boot image size to properly size EPROM?

Hi,

We're planning to use the FX3 on a new board with the firmware development in parallel with the schematic. The board will need to be taped out prior to the firmware being done and I would like to have the option to boot from the EPROM.  Does anyone have a good feel for the 'typical' image size for a design using the GPIF2 interface?  I get the feeling from reading some of the messages in this forum that the images are considerably larger than those from the FX2 (8051 based) and would rather err on the side of caution.

Thanks in advance,

Raphael

Hi,

Typical image size would be about 130- 160KB so you will need two 1024K bit eeproms. Two 24LC1025 will be enough.
