Stall condition set to EP0 to tell host side that something fails

Hello,

I am not sure which direction IN/OUT of the endpoint 0 (control EP) I should stall when I like to send a ERROR or failed condition to the host side.

Please tell me in which cases I should stall the IN EP0 and when the OUT EP0? Or if I can call each time the same 0x00 or 0x80?

Or on what it depends on at host side, which direction has to be stalled? (I am using an own written driver on host side!)

Best Regards, thanks

Lumpi

Depends on what you want to STALL.

Usually the status phase of the control transfer is STALLed to indicate to the host that the particular control transfer is not supported/understood by the device. The direction of the status phase varies based on the direction of the data phase direction.

Anand

Hi Anand,

thanks for the fast answer.

Is it right, that a control transfer which has no data to send or receive is an OUT transfer?

thanks,

lumpi
