Detect fifo status in firmware

Hi,

Is there a way to detect if data is in an endpoint  buffer without through the FX3's cpu. I have an application that sends data to the GPIF port and then over USB 3 to a PC using IN Endpoint 2. The DMA channel is setup to transfer the data automatically.  I want to detect if the endpoint buffer has data, that is, it is no longer empty. I need to detect this within the firmware so using external flags will not help. Does anybody know of a way to do this?

Thanks,

Sodafarl

Manual mode should give you notification when you receive a buffer,

The bulk manual mode example under dma examples at C:\Program Files\Cypress\EZ-USB FX3 SDK\1.0\firmware\dma_examples\cyfxbulklpmanual should be a good reference.

Regards,

Anand

Hi Anand,

I need to use the auto dma mode because with manaul dma I don't get the greatest data through put. With manual dma the cpu gets involved in the data transfers and this slows these transfers. is there a way to detect an endpoint buffers empty or full status when dma is configured as auto.

Thanks,

Sodfarl
